About Us

The Department for Communities' Office for Youth is a State Government agency responsible for developing policy and programs that meet the needs of Western Australia's young people.

The Office was formerly linked to the Department for Community Development which, as of 1 July 2007, was replaced with two new departments – the Department for Child Protection and the Department for Communities.

The Office for Youth is part of the Department for Communities.

We recognise that the young people who live in Western Australia are diverse and have a lot to contribute in a variety of ways.

Our Vision

To build an environment that promotes and develops the ideas of young Western Australians.

Our Mission

The Office for Youth:

  • Connects all young West Australians with government and community, and
  • Shapes government policy and programs with insights and experiences from young West Australians.
